Mornington Basketball is pleased to announce the players representing Mornington Breakers in the 2026 Victorian Junior Basketball League!

Successful players will need to accept their spot in a Breakers team by no later than 12pm on Wednesday the 15th of October 2025. To do so, please complete the following steps below.

Please note that all squads are considered preliminary and players may be moved in accordance with the VJBL Rules of Operation during Grading Phases at the Director of Coaching's discretion. 





  • Mornington Breakers Uniforms are available to try on Monday 13th & Tuesday 14th October 2025 from 4.30pm – 8.30pm at Mornington Basketball Stadium
  • Uniforms (other than playing singlets, playing shorts and warm up tops) can be ordered via our uniform shop; https://iathletic.com.au/collections/mornington-breakers
  • Training will commence on Sunday 19th October 2025 and you can view your training time by following this link
  • Your coach will be in contact with you later this week, it takes some time for Mornington Basketball to collate the acceptances and forward lists to coaches (please be patient).





On Friday 17th October 2025, we will have the following information sessions at Mornington Basketball Stadium, please RSVP via this link. Players do not need to attend the meeting but the stadium will be open for shooting and scrimmages with team mates plus a free sausage sizzle for families.

  • Under 12 and New Player Parent Information Session – 7pm – 7.45pm
  • Breakers Player Pathway meeting – 7.45pm – 8.15pm

On Monday 20th October 2025, a Team Manager meeting will be held from 7pm – 8pm at Mornington Basketball Stadium. If you are willing to volunteer to be a Team Manager please email manager@morningtonbasketball.com.au

2026 VJBL FEES

Acceptance Deposit - due by 12pm on 15th October 2025

  • $200 per player (plus processing fees), non-refundable acceptance deposit.

New players must also pay an additional $120 at the time of deposit for their playing singlet, playing shorts and socks.



OUTSTANDING OR UNPAID FEES

Any unpaid or outstanding fees by the above dates will result in the player being ineligible to participate in matches or training sessions. Fees will need to be paid online.

WHAT DO FEES COVER?

Breakers fees are partially subsidised by other business areas and contribute towards, court hire, coach expenses, facility utilities, business insurance, VJBL entry fees, administration, coach expenses, staff and capital building expenditure to name a few. Breakers fees do not cover uniform, weekly match fees or tournament entry fees.

FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

U12-U18 ACCEPTANCE DEPOSIT

For the 2026 VJBL Season the fees are as follows;

  • 1 player - $715.00
  • 2 players - $643.50 each
  • 3 players - $572.00 each 

U12-U18 REGISTRATION FEES

Balance of Fees - due by 5pm on 7th November 2025

  • 1 player - $515 (plus processing fees)
  • 2 players - $443.50 each  (plus processing fees) - $887 total
  • 3 players - $372 each  (plus processing fees) - $1116 total

The balance of fees is paid via PlayHQ when you register to Mornington Breakers Basketball Club. You have the option to pay via credit/debit card, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal Pay in 4.   If you wish to pay via instalment you must create a PayPal account and select Pay in 4. 

* no sibling discount applies to U20 players as their fees will already be substantially discounted

ELIGIBILITY

Representative players will be those players who are currently playing VJBL or Big V or played in the previous season regardless of the association they represent.

To be eligible to represent Mornington District Basketball Association as a Mornington Breaker all players up to the Under 18 age group must:

  • Participate in the MDBA domestic competition both Summer and Winter for the duration of the VJBL season.
  • Must participate in a minimum of 5 matches per season.
  • An injured player may submit a request for an exemption from domestic to the MDBA Management, which must be supported by a medical certificate.

Any player that does not comply with the above will:

  • Be suspended from the Breakers VJBL team by Round 5 of the Summer season until they register in a domestic team or pay a $300 fine for each season they are not a registered domestic player.

A player may be eligible for an exemption from domestic if the following applies:

  • Player in VJBL under 20’s
  • Player over 18 years of age
  • Player studying full time, Year 12 only
  •  Big V, Youth League or Senior full time listed player
  • State Development Program, State Performance Program, National Performance Program
  • Scholarship or equivalent in another sport
  • State team or national team representative in either basketball or another sport

Exemption request must be submitted to the MDBA Management with supporting evidence.

All VJBL players are expected to train twice per week. Players will attend one team session and one squad session. Generally junior boys train on Sunday and Monday and junior girls train on Sunday and Wednesday.
