GUIDELINES FOR BREAKERS
TRAINING ABSENCES

All VJBL players are expected to train twice per week. Players will attend one team session and one squad session. Generally junior boys train on Sunday and Monday and junior girls train on Sunday and Wednesday. 

VJBL 2024/25 AGE GROUPS

2024/25 VJBL CALENDAR

2024/25 VJBL FEES

1 player - $715.00 - $21.00 per week

2 player - $643.50 each - $37.50 per week

3 player - $572.00 each - $50.50 per week

Teams that quality for Victorian Championship (VC) each player will be invoiced an additional $35.00, which will be due at the conclusion of VJBL grading.

U20 REGISTRATION FEES (VJBL)

$630.00 per player - $18.50 per week

No sibling discount applies to Under 20s or Big V.

OUTSTANDING OR UNPAID FEES

Any unpaid or outstanding fees by the above dates will result in the player being ineligible to participate in matches or training sessions. Fees will need to be paid online.

WHAT DO FEES COVER?

Breakers fees are partially subsidised by other business areas and contribute towards, court hire, coach expenses, facility utilities, business insurance, VJBL entry fees, administration, coach expenses, staff and capital building expenditure to name a few. Breakers fees do not cover uniform, weekly match fees, tournament entry fees and uniforms.

U20 INSTALMENTS (VJBL)

Payment is via 3 instalments online only

Deposit (Instalment 1) - $150.00 per player, non-refundable deposit (within 48 hours of squad announcements to confirm position).

Note all players will be sized up for a warm-up top at Try Outs and be required to pay $40.00 with the deposit when accepting your position. 

U12-U18 REGISTRATION FEES (VJBL)

U12-U18 INSTALMENTS (VJBL)

ELIGIBILITY

Representative players will be those players who are currently playing VJBL or Big V or played in the previous season regardless of the association they represent.

To be eligible to represent Mornington District Basketball Association as a Mornington Breaker all players up to the Under 18 age group must:

  • Participate in the MDBA domestic competition both Summer and Winter for the duration of the VJBL season.
  • Must participate in a minimum of 5 matches per season.
  • An injured player may submit a request for an exemption from domestic to the MDBA Management, which must be supported by a medical certificate.

Any player that does not comply with the above will:

  • Be suspended from the Breakers VJBL team by Round 5 of the Summer season until they register in a domestic team or pay a $300 fine for each season they are not a registered domestic player.

A player may be eligible for an exemption from domestic if the following applies:

  • Player in VJBL under 20’s
  • Player over 18 years of age
  • Player studying full time, Year 12 only
  •  Big V, Youth League or Senior full time listed player
  • State Development Program, State Performance Program, National Performance Program
  • Scholarship or equivalent in another sport
  • State team or national team representative in either basketball or another sport

Exemption request must be submitted to the MDBA Management with supporting evidence.

New players must purchase the compulsory uniform pack - $310 at the time of paying the deposit.

Uniforms are avaliable to try on at Mornington Basketball Stadium. This can be done yourself, just take note of the correct sizes for when you pay your deposit.
