WHAT IS BiG V?

2026 Big V FEES

Acceptance Deposit - due one week after team announcements.

  • $150 per player (plus processing fees), non-refundable acceptance deposit.

All Breakers Big V players joining our program are required to sign the online Player Contract and adhere to the Terms and Conditions of that contract throughout their time at Mornington Basketball.



OUTSTANDING OR UNPAID FEES

Any unpaid or outstanding fees by the above dates will result in the player being ineligible to participate in matches or training sessions. Fees will need to be paid online.

WHAT DO FEES COVER?

Breakers fees are partially subsidised by other business areas and contribute towards, court hire, coach expenses, facility utilities, business insurance, BigV entry fees, administration, coach expenses, staff and capital building expenditure to name a few.

Big V ACCEPTANCE DEPOSIT & CONTRACT

The Breakers Big V program is full fee paying. The cost for each player to register for the 2026 Big V season is $630.00. Players may seek sponsorship from businesses to cover their fees. It is the players responsibility to seek their own sponsorship and arrange payment. A Big V player sponsor is $680.00.

BiG V REGISTRATION FEES

Balance of Fees - due by 5pm on 1st March 2026

  • $480 per player (plus processing fees)

The balance of fees is paid via PlayHQ when you register to Mornington Breakers Basketball Club. You have the option to pay via credit/debit card, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal Pay in 4.   If you wish to pay via instalment you must create a PayPal account and select Pay in 4.

JUNIOR BREAKERS ELIGIBILITY

For a junior player to be eligible for selection in the Big V senior program be it the senior team or the youth league team you must be a current registered junior Breakers player. 

  • Commit to the eligibility requirements of being a junior Breakers player as per the MDBA By Laws except for:

A player under the age of 18 years who is selected on a Big V Senior or Youth League team is not required to play domestic basketball.

  • An exemption from juniors is not applicable to any player if that team is graded/grading in the VJBL top 40.  

  • Maintain attendance at their junior weekly training sessions. Players are to train a maximum of 2 hours in any day. It is the players responsibility to manage their training load and commitment with the Head Coach of the junior team and Head Coach of the senior team. Junior commitments are the priority. 

  • In exceptional circumstances a junior Breaker’s player Under 18’s or below, may apply in writing to the Committee of Management for an exemption from playing in the junior Breakers program. In making any decision the Committee will consult with the junior Breakers Coach, the Senior/Youth League Coach and any other relevant parties. Examples of where an exemption may apply include State team selection, National team selection, National Performance Program or representation in another sport of equal or higher standard and/or the player is considered in the top 6 players of the Youth League or Senior Team.

All BigV players are expected to train twice per week. These sessions are generally on a Tuesday and Thursday night.

UNIFORM FOR BIG V BREAKERS PLAYERS

The playing singlet and playing shorts remain the property of MDBA. If a player loses any items they must be replaced at the player’s expense. All players sign a contract agreeing to these terms prior to receiving the uniform. 

Players receive the following uniform items: 

  • Playing singlet
  • Playing shorts
  • Warm up top
  • Polo shirt 
  • Hoodie 

Players will need to purchase the following uniform items: 

  • Breakers socks (compulsory)

Players must arrive and depart matches in uniform which can be their playing uniform and/or plain black track pants or Breakers track pants, sports shoes, polo shirt and hoodie. 

THE COMMITMENT

The Mornington Basketball Big V program is only able to operate due to the support of our junior programs. As a Big V player you are required to volunteer your time during the season to show support to our junior programs and be part of our vibrant basketball community. Your coach will discuss your commitment as soon as your contract is signed.
