Dear Members
Basketball facilities across the Mornington Peninsula need updating and are significantly under supplied. This is a call to the entire Mornington Peninsula basketball community to ‘Have Your Say’
The Mornington Shire recently released the Sports Capacity Plan Volume 2 (Indoor Sports). This report reviews the existing provision of indoor sporting facilities and their adequacy to meet the demand and need for a range of indoor sports.
The report concludes that an additional 6-10 indoor courts required by 2036 in both the Northern and Southern areas of the Mornington Peninsula. Basketball as a sport has more children and adults participating than any other sport on the Mornington Peninsula and the flow on effects of limited and outdated facilities is impacting the delivery, development and growth of basketball in our community.
If you or someone you know is or has been involved in basketball on the Mornington Peninsula, please take 5 minutes to complete this short survey being conducted by the Shire. The more responses received will help kickstart the process, turning those 6-10 courts from being in a report to being built in our community!
