BREAKERS TRY OUT DATES & REGISTRATION
Registrations for Breakers Tryouts will close on Friday the 22nd of September at 5pm. We will not be accepting any late registrations.
Try Outs for Junior Breakers 2024 competing in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) will be held on the following dates. Try Outs for existing Breakers players U12 – U20 and those clearing from other VJBL Associations and those invited from New Player Try Outs are as follows:
- Sunday 1st October 2023
- Friday 6th October 2023
- Sunday 8th October 2023
Sunday 1st October 2023 & Sunday 8th October 2023
- 8.00am – 9.30am – Under 12 Boys
- 9.30am – 11.00am – Under 12 Girls
- 11.00am – 12.30pm – Under 14 Boys
- 12.30pm – 2.00pm – Under 14 Girls
- 2.00pm – 3.30pm – Under 16 Boys
- 3.30pm – 5.00pm – Under 16 Girls & Under 18 Girls
- 5.00pm – 6.30pm – Under 18 Boys & Under 20 Boys
Friday 6th October 2022 – Try Out 2 (Mornington Basketball Stadium)
- 4.30pm – 5.30pm – Under 12 Girls & Under 14 Girls
- 5.30pm – 6.30pm – Under 12 Boys
- 6.30pm – 7.30pm – Under 14 Boys
- 8.30pm – 9.30pm – Under 16 Girls & Under 18 Girls
- 7.30pm – 8.30pm – Under 16 Boys
- 9.30pm – 10.30pm – Under 18 Boys

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to represent the Mornington Breakers you must compete in the Mornington Junior Domestic Competition. To read the full eligibility criteria please follow the link below to section 8.
PERMISSION TO TRAIN
Players who are currently playing for or have previously played in a VJBL competition and wish to obtain 'Permission to train' (PTT) at another association must complete and submit the correct form before trying out with a new association. Associations have 5 business days to approve the request.
Current Breakers players seeking Permission to Trains will be approved by MDBA until 5pm on the 6th of October.
*Permission to trains will not be approved outside of regular business hours*
Any player wishing to try out for Breakers from another club will be required to have an approved permission to train 24 hours prior to attending tryouts.

The compulsory items are (singlet, training singlet, shorts, socks, backpack & hoodie).

Please note that there are minimum order requirements and members are strongly encouraged to order at the start of the season, as there is no guarantee that we will be able to fulfill your order at a later time.

2024 FEES
Under 12 to Under 18
1 player - $715.00 - $21.00 per week
2 player - $643.50 each - $37.50 per week
3 player - $572.00 each - $50.50 per week
Teams that quality for Victorian Championship (VC) each player will be invoiced an additional $35.00, which will be due at the conclusion of VJBL grading.
Under 20 and Big V
$630.00 per player - $18.50 per week

INSTALMENTS:
Payment is via 3 instalments online only
Instalment 1 - $150.00 per player, non-refundable deposit (within 48 hours of squad announcements to confirm position).

STAY UP TO DATE
Mornington Breakers use Team App to communicate with families. Please ensure you join Mornington Basketball Team App and sign up to "Junior Breakers VJBL" access group and turn notifications on for TeamApp.
TRAINING
All players are expected to train twice per week. Players will attend one team session and one squad session. Generally junior boys train on Sunday and Monday and junior girls train on Sunday and Wednesday.
INTRA CLUB NIGHT
An Intra Club Night will be scheduled generally the Friday night the week following team selections.
